What I’ve learnt over the last year in lockdown is that this country of ours has a lot to offer. I was lucky to buy a static caravan in Fermanagh in June 2020 and started to explore the area as foreign travel was out.
This last year has allowed me the opportunity to meet lots of like minded women through Mountainbiking and I’ve taken a trip with two of the ladies to see the west coast of Ireland , part of the Wild Atlantic Way. Both Anna and Arlene own vans so it’s a week of van life.

We made a quick overnight stop at the caravan in Kesh to break up the journey and day 1 found us travelling to Bundoran, a surfers paradise in Co. Donegal.
Not being much of a water lover I headed out on the bike to follow the coastal trail around Bundoran whilst the other two hired some boards and headed into the waves.

Parking at Tullan strand is 2 euro for the full day but make sure you arrive early as the car park is small compared to the vastness of the beach.
Looking like the Paparazzi with my wide lens camera I got a few surfing shots.

We spent the day in the glorious sunshine, some of us forgetting to top up the suncream🦞
Campsites all over Ireland are fully booked and we were lucky to find the Benwiskin Centre, 15 minutes from Bundoran.
We booked a private room for up to 4 people with private bathroom and a modern shared kitchen. There are a number of lounges to spend the evening.

After dinner we explored to watch the sunset and came across an abandoned house that we absolutely had to check out.

The views from the Hostel are breathtaking and I think this may be the most photogenic mountain range I’ve seen. I believe this is Benwiskin, part of the Dartry Mountain range and tomorro mornings adventure.
A nice rest and reset for me whilst the others stay up just a little bit later (oh to be young again 🤣)

Bring on tomorrow’s adventure, we’ve planned biking and views on our way to Achill.
